Part-Time Taproom & Gaming Attendant
Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 12:00 PM–5:00 PM
Garage Band Brewing Company in Plainfield, Illinois, is seeking a friendly, dependable, and outgoing individual to join our taproom team for a consistent daytime shift Tuesday through Friday from Noon to 5:00 PM.
This position combines traditional taproom and bartending responsibilities with maintaining a clean, welcoming taproom and providing excellent service to all customers. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, enjoys interacting with customers, and understands that keeping the taproom clean, organized, and inviting is just as important as serving drinks.
The ideal candidate is someone who can work independently, recognizes what needs to be done without constant direction, and enjoys getting to know our regular customers.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide friendly, attentive service to all taproom customers.
Pour and serve craft beer, cocktails, packaged beverages, and other drinks in accordance with Garage Band Brewing policies and Illinois Liquor Control Commission requirements.
Operate the point-of-sale system, process cash and credit card transactions, and properly close out customer checks.
Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable taproom throughout the entire shift.
Clean and wipe down tables, chairs, bar surfaces, gaming areas, and other customer areas as needed.
Sweep and mop floors and perform other routine cleaning throughout the taproom.
Monitor and maintain restrooms to ensure they remain clean, stocked, and presentable.
Maintain the entire taproom room area including keeping chairs, tables, gaming machines and the surrounding area clean and organized.
Regularly check on customers, offer beverage service, remove empty glasses and trash, and ensure customers receive attentive service throughout their visit.
Help create a welcoming environment for our customers and become familiar with our regular guests.
Wash, dry, organize, and put away glassware.
Stock beer, beverages, merchandise, supplies, and other inventory as needed.
Fill Crowlers and assist with packaged beer and retail sales.
Change beer kegs as necessary.
Answer customer questions in person and over the phone.
Maintain knowledge of Garage Band Brewing beers, including beer styles, ingredients, flavors, and other relevant information.
Complete cleaning and organizational tasks during slower periods without needing to be directed.
Follow all Garage Band Brewing policies and applicable Illinois alcohol service regulations.
Required Qualifications
Must be available Tuesday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Current BASSET Certification or ability to obtain certification before beginning work.
Previous bartending, brewery, taproom, restaurant, or customer-service experience preferred.
An interest in and willingness to learn about craft beer.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Must be comfortable starting conversations with customers, checking on guests throughout their visit, and getting to know regular customers.
Ability to provide attentive service to both traditional taproom customers and video gaming customers.
Ability to work independently and remain productive during slower daytime periods.
Ability to recognize what needs to be cleaned, stocked, organized, or completed without waiting to be told.
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple unrelated tasks.
Dependable, punctual, and able to consistently work the scheduled daytime hours.
Ability to work well with other Garage Band Brewing team members.
Must maintain a professional, welcoming attitude with all customers.

During slower periods, the expectation is that the employee actively looks for cleaning, stocking, organizing, and other tasks that need attention rather than waiting for direction.
Our customers are very important to us. The person in this position should make those customers feel welcome, regularly check on them, provide prompt beverage service, and keep taproom clean and comfortable.
